The Race

Please join us for the City of Burton Memorial Day 5K Run & Walk. The goal is to promote running and a healthy lifestyle in the City of Burton, and to raise funds for the Pack the Truck program. The Pack the Truck program provides school supplies to disadvantaged children.

Date & Time

  • Monday, May 28, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Atherton High School
  • The run will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:01 a.m.

The race will be held in the City of Burton at Atherton High School. The address is 3354 South Genesee Road, Burton, Michigan 48519.

Crim Adult Training Program Voucher Race

The City of Burton Memorial Day 5K Run & Walk is a Crim Adult Training Program voucher race. Participants in the program will beCrim Voucher Race able to present their voucher and enter the race at no charge. To learn more about the Crim Adult Training Program, please visit Crim.org.

Course

The course will be closed to vehicle traffic. It is non-certified, but is accurately measured. The route is out-and-back, flat and fast with a total of nine turns. There will be one aid station on the course and mile markers at the first and second mile. A course map is available at MapMyRun.

Facilities

There will be restrooms available at the school. Lockers and showers will not be available, so please come dressed to run.

Post Race Refreshments

Water, sweets and fruit will be available near the finish line for participants.
